Fly fishing setup?

I just got a fly rod and was wondering if the backing line goes on the reel before the floating line of after and how much of it? and also do i tie them together or use a no-knot eyelets?

best way to figure it out is to reel the flyline onto the reel first then attach the backing to the flyline with a knot that will slip throught the guides easily. fill the reel to capacity with the backing then cut it. strip it all off the reel then attach the backing to the reel and wind it all in. the reel will be full with the right amount of backing.

How many customers could they possibly get with such a scattershot approach? Who in the world gets on Y!A to find the best Internet site for fake Nikes from Hong Kong?

What is the ultimate fly fishing book?

The last two years Ive got into fly fishing.
What I am looking for now is a fly fishing book that will help me fish the proper fly for the time of season with retrieving tips etc.
I mostly fish scottish loch and dams with stocked rainbow and brownies in the hope of moving onto sea trout fishing and salmon if I get good at this.
It would also be helpful if I could find a book that will teach me new rig tying skills, ie how to tie fly line onto backing and how to tie a leader line onto fly line without using braided leaders.
